Kugluktuk, formerly known as Coppermine, is located at the mouth of the Coppermine River in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, Canada. It is the westernmost community in Nunavut, near the border with the Northwest Territories.
Kugluktuk boasts a rich cultural heritage and breathtaking Arctic landscapes. Historically inhabited by Inuit and Dene peoples, it offers visitors a glimpse into traditional ways of life through its wildlife, history, and cultural significance.

Kugluktuk offers a variety of activities and attractions for visitors and residents alike.
This is a significant historical and cultural site located upriver from Kugluktuk. It was an ancient fishing and hunting location for the Inuit and is now a territorial park of historic cultural importance.
Explore the Coppermine River from Kugluktuk to Bloody Falls and back or enjoy the beautiful Arctic landscape and camp in designated areas around the community.
A weeklong festival in April featuring traditional Inuit games, dancing, feasting, seal hunting contests, and snowmobile races.Â
Hunt for caribou, muskox, and fish for Arctic char and whitefish.
The visitor centre offers gallery tours, cultural performances, and exhibits showcasing local arts and crafts, traditional Inuit tools and clothing, and archival photo.
